Netanyahu has faced widespread criticism and protests over the treatment of pandemic on the part of his government, and economic consequences from an earlier isolation.
New restrictions envision closures during weekends in shops, shopping malls, beauty halls and tourist venues.
The Israeli weekend is Friday and Saturday.
Israel had largely prevented the outbreak of the epidemic, following the establishment of severe isolation measures that lasted two months.
But new cases of the new coronary have increased since restrictions were lifted.
Israel reported some 1,900 new cases only on Thursday. At least 384 people have died since the beginning of the pandemic, while more than 45,000 people have been infected.
