The relentless increase in cases with Coddy-19 in Kosovo, with ever higher numbers, is seriously threatening the health of citizens, the health system and the country's economy.
So says former Health Minister Uran Ismaili. He has criticised the government Hoti that it is not seriously dealing with the struggle of pandemic with Covid-19, after he puts it on hold, and is imposing measures despite the number of infected.
Ismaili's post:
Unfortunately, this serious situation is not alarming Government, which starts working with certain decisions and ends with other decisions, none of which is successful in managing pandemic.
As a country, as a society, we dare not accept being the first in failure, with the highest number of infected for 100,000 people and an increasing mortality.
It is unforgivable for this abnormal state to be treated by the government as normal.
It is sad and unacceptable how Hoti Government imposes measures, removes measures, limits citizens, releases citizens despite the number of infected. It's a chaos of political decisions in the fight against pandemic.
Now, we're also looking at decisions about self-isolation measures for anyone traveling to Albania. Is it in the testing sample that the infected have been visitors to Albania, or is that more for a political show? What information led to this decision?
Kosovo today needs a national strategy, with which steps for fighting pandemic would be clearly known and the role and responsibility of institutions at the central and local level.
Citizens need decisions that would result in the reduction of the infected. With decisions “today for tomorrow”, without any results, no pandemic is fought.
