Foreign investments in Kosovo have been halted, and most of those in our country are struggling for survival. So said Emrush Ujkan, executive director of the Council of European Investors.
However, Wojan says that most businesses have looked to the Emergency Package, but according to him, they have been hit at this point as well.
He says he cannot be expected to have investments this year, and according to him, the consequences will be for a longer period.
“We no longer talk about investment in this country, foreign investments have not dropped, but there is a stop and there is a general disruption of foreign investment, the fight that are making a good part of the businesses that are present for now in our country is to survive and there are those that are in slightly more extreme situations”, Wolfan told Online Economics.
There's a lot of expectations from the Emergency Package where we hit them at that point, so we can't talk about falling because we have a total stagnation and this won't be expected not only in this year, but I think the consequences will be for a little longer”.
He says even before the pandemic Kosovo has not been well with foreign investors, but that, according to him, now forced stop will be more pronounced.
Wolfani says that at this important stage it is the preservation of current investors.
“We have also not been well in the past, but will be much more pronounced in the post-Cardian period and will pass a time until there is stable economic stability”.
It should not be seen that the investment climate is not properly in our country, but it should be seen by those who invest because even the pandemic has not been merciful to one economy slightly worse than the other, because we see Western economies being hit day and day by the United States.
These numbers won't be promising in foreign investment, the important thing is to keep those we have here”, Wolfan said.
