Iran's Atomic Energy Organisation (AEOI) has not detailed what happened at the Natanz uranium enrichment facility.
But he said the incident took place in a building that was under construction, and that there were no deaths or concerns related to contamination, the BBC reports, translates Periscopi.
The city governor of Natanz was later quoted by the Tasnim news agency, describing the incident as “fire”.
Ramadanal Ferdows said firefighters and search-saving teams had been in place of the event, which is about 250km south of the capital, Tehran.
Later, AEOI showed a photograph that seemed to show the building where the incident occurred. Its roof was damaged while a wall was burned. /Periscope
