In Brussels, the meeting between Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti and Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, has ended under dialogue mediated by the European Union.
Details of the talks have not yet been disclosed.
The European Union has warned earlier that after the meeting there will be a proposal by EU Special Envoy for dialogue Miroslav Lajcak.
This is the first direct meeting of representatives of Kosovo and Serbia within the Brussels dialogue, after more than 20 months.
Earlier, EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Josep Borrell said he encourages Kosovo and Serbia to develop a dialogue in the spirit of compromise and pragmatism.
Comments he made before the start of the meeting between Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti, and Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, within the dialogue mediated by the European Union.
The “expects constructive discussion that would contribute to comprehensive normalisation of reports between the two countries”, Borrell said in his address.
Borrell stressed that he is pleased that the EU has restored the leading role of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.
Representatives of Belgrade and Pristina were first welcomed at separate meetings, by the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borelli, while EU Special Envoy for Dialogue Miroslav Lajcak will participate in the negotiations.
In fact, dialogue virtually resumed on July 12th, where parties talked through a video conference, but Thursday's meeting presents the first direct talks after 20 months.
This is also the first meeting Kosovo President Hashim Thaci will not participate in.
This round of dialogue is under way in Brussels, until Thaci is continuing to testify before the Special Prosecutor in The Hague, against whom an indictment of war crimes and crimes against humanity has been sent. After the Special Prosecutor's report to The Hague that they have filed the indictment at a preliminary procedure judge, EU officials cut off communication with Thaci and turned their attention to Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti.
Hoti represented Kosovo in a series of high-level meetings organised in recent weeks.
