Alliance for the Future of Kosovo Chairman Ramush Haradinaj, citing the tribunal in The Hague, UNMIK and EULEX courts, has said that much has been done, as Kosovo has been dealing with courts for 20 years and former KLA fighters are acquitted.
Haradinaj has said he was and remains against the Special Court, as she would have to be in Kosovo and not in any other country because this court would have fewer echoing.
According to him, the two positions of his opposition at the time were not political but legal.
The “is surprising how the moment Thaci leaves for Washington, but Kosovo has given her court that discretion”, he said.
Haradinaj has talked about Dick Marty's report, which incriminating the KLA, on whose claims the Special Court was established.
Haradinaj has said it is strange how a special court for crimes in the Great Krusha e Vogel was once not established, citing Serbia's terrible crimes in these two villages.
It's strange that for Krusha, for Krusha the Great and the Small Krush has a court. I'm not talking about the Mehat and the others. I'm just talking about two Krusses. It is surprising that a eurodeput instead of giving priority to the issue of Krusha, Meha, or Studies, has given priority to the works he wrote in the report”, Haradinaj said.
Haradinaj has also indicated about moments when he was asked to vote for the Special Court in the Kosovo Assembly. He told why he didn't vote.
When I was asked to vote on by allies and local partners to vote on the court, then our vote was No for two principles. The first has become an investment in building a justice system by the international community. I think we accept failure and inability to build a justice system. Second principle was selective justice. How can only KLA leaders, not perpetrators, be investigated. But, with the logic of finding crimes through KLA leaders”, Haradinaj said in Pressing of T7.
Haradinaj, among other things, has said that problems have been raised in this period of Kosovo.
He has called for unity so that national stability and security cannot be jeopardised.
Kosovo has met challenges, problems. Pandemia is a problem that is causing the next problem with the economy. Then moving with institutions has brought other problems. The Special Court, and dialogue with Serbia, are big problems. Like Kosovo, despite the fact that we have differences, I don't believe we will jeopardise national stability and security in Kosovo. It is not easy and there will be challenges”, he said.
