Gucati: Thaci to prove innocent of special prosecutor's charges

Gucati even called those charges groundless, saying the victim was Kosovo.

On the other hand, Gucati indicated that Hashim Thaci is one of the KLA's founders and that there is no court that can negatively judge the KLA war.

“Never have the soldiers of the Kosovo Liberation Army feared or hesitated to face justice as local but international, like all other fighters, as well as the president of the Republic of Kosovo Hashim Thaci will stand innocent against baseless and unfound accusations being made to him and many former KLA fighters, we have been victims and have fought for freedom what we have met for our beloved homeland, Hashim Thaqi, one of the founders of the Kosovo Liberation Army is among the rare examples in the world of numerous KLA fighters who showed the world as being protected by the barbarians and used by an enemy who used any means of war for Kosovo's war, where Kosovo's troops are proud of war, and Kosovo's war has been fought against war by war.

About two weeks after the Special Prosecutor at The Hague announced that he has handed the indictment to Hashim Thaci and Kadri Wessel, as well as to former members of the KLA for war crimes, President Thaci today has suggested he was invited to interview the Dutch capital. He will travel there next Monday.

Thaci also said Kosovo, even though the victim, has co-operated with the law bodies. And as a result, many Kosovo Liberation Army fighters have been interviewed by Specialised Chambers in Kosovo and abroad.

On the other hand, the president invited citizens to face these challenges together until many KLA fighters face international justice.

He once again recalled that belief in institutions is necessary for Kosovo to become part of NATO, the European Union and maintain eternal friendship with the United States.

In the past two decades many KLA members faced UNMIK's international justice, The Hague Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, EULEX and local justice.

Kosovo, although a victim, collaborated with justice bodies for handling war crimes claims. In the last two years many former fighters have been interviewed by Specialised Chambers, both inside and outside the country.

Honored citizens of the Republic of Kosovo,

Let me share with you that on Monday I will travel to The Hague as invited by the Special Prosecutor to interview.

Until my fellow fighters and I face the dignity and integrity of international justice, I invite you to join us to face the challenges facing the country.

Civil unity, interethnic co-existence, institutional stability and trust in institutions are necessary for Kosovo to experience the vision to be part of NATO, the European Union and preserve eternal friendship with the United States.
