This amount is bigger than I can begin to imagine, but all the price money will be donated, through my foundation, to various organizations and projects working to protect people in the line of the throne, infected by the climate crisis and the ecological crisis,” said Swedish teenager in a video message posted on Monday.
It was shared with the Globenkian Prize for Humanism for the way it “has been able to mobilise the new generations on the issue of climate change and for its persistent attempt to change the status quo,” said Jorge Sampaio, chairman of the committee that donated the award, writes The Guardian, translates Periscopi.
The first 100 thousand euros will go to organisation “SOS Amazon”, which is trying to fight the region of Coronervirus in the Amazon.
The next 100 thousand euros would be given to the Stop Ecocid Foundation “to help their work make the overall international crime”, Thunberg wrote on Twitter.
