Former US Vice President Joe Biden has welcomed the Kosovo and Serbian leaders' decision to resume dialogue.
Biden criticises the Trump administration that “has failed to co-ordinate with European emissaries, who have been mediating dialogue between the two countries for nearly a decade” during the June meeting at the White House.
Although the meeting was canceled, our European partners heard a clear message. The United States must cooperate with European partners, not turn their backs on them. This is the best hope of reaching a sustainable solution that would open a more peaceful, more prosperous and European future for both countries,” writes Biden on Twitter.
President Trump's representative in the Kosovo-Serbia talks, Richard Green, reacted immediately to the statement, accusing Mr. Biden of politicising the dialogue process between the two countries.
Ambassador Greenell in a series of tweet posts guarantees “that nothing will advance before the November elections and that the people of Kosovo and Serbia will be forced to wait again to be used by politicians”.

The people of Kosovo and Serbia know that there is no comparison between eight years of empty promises of the Obama-Biden administration and the works of the Trump” administration.
Green mentions agreements on air transport, railway and road between the two countries achieved with American engagement as an example that the Trump administration has achieved long-desired “results, and Joe Biden just keeps talking, as it has for 40 years in Washington”.
Biden, among other things, says Green has been wrong in almost every major foreign policy decision, so “has nothing to be surprised that he again offers only empty words and promises to the people of Kosovo and Serbia”.
