This association has called on state institutions for co-operation in making contributions to the design of better and more appropriate measures and practices, which would be less harmful both to our businesses and to the country's economy.
They have also called for some measures to help gastronomy sector.
This is the complete communique of gastronomics:
In view of the present severe situation and the increase in the number of people infected with the COVID-19 virus, we like the Association call for cooperation in making our contribution to the design of better and more appropriate measures and practices that would be less harmful to both our businesses and the country's economy. Now we are all aware that we do not have the luxury of even greater job losses and deepening economic crisis!
We as the Association, even though we've been constantly the most hit sector by pandemic, have been and are willing to co-operate with the respective institutions. The last decision made by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo not only does not affect the prevention of the virus, but it also completely destroys our businesses and leads us to an economic collapse.
As an Association, we think that cutting working hours until 9:00 p.m., we as businesses are incapable of further operation and leading to the banknote. At the same time, we do not believe that this is the key factor that would help reduce the number of infected people and how the Associations believe that the awareness of our clients, staff, wearing masks and respecting other measures would always be the best solution.
We remain convinced that schedule is not the main problem and factor but that awareness of the population to protect itself and others by respecting the measures of I KPS.
The virus is existable, and we need to get used to living with it by consciously recognizing the population and preventing the growth of the infected and not just blaming certain sectors and hitting only certain businesses. Furthermore, there are no precise facts and statistics that the virus's core is Gastronomy and, like the society, we feel revolted by such slanders, considering that we don't act to harm anyone when we are also endangered by this virus and we have responsibility for ourselves, family and society.
We're calling on the Compent Institutions to fine businesses individually for violation of measures and regulations, not to act in a comprehensive way.
As the gastronomial sector is directly affected by recent decisions, a consultation with the actions of these sectors and decisions to increase specific support for this sector, including:
a) Reprogram credit installments;
b) Easy access to finance;
c) Support for salaries and rents, at least for three months;
d) delay of tax statements and fees, at least for three months.
We hope that these recommendations will be taken into account by relevant institutions, taking into account the importance this sector has in the country's economy, jobs and the welfare of citizens.
