Gastronomers complain that new measures are making their situation worse.

After increasing cases with COVIID-19 recent days, the government of Kosovo made the decision that from today all gastronomy services, including restaurants, cafes, nightclubs, do not provide services from 9:00 to 0500 throughout our country's territory. Out of this time they can work only in spaces [...]
Outside this time, only open spaces can be worked by respecting the 1.5m social distance between tables, as well as Take-away services.
Such a decision seems a heavy burden to the sector. The deputy chairman of the Kosovo Gastronomous Association, Fatos Mejuani for Kosova Preris, says they have not been consulted by responsible institutions for such decisions.
According to him, these decisions yesterday for the gastronomy sector have caused uncertainty.
Mejuani says state assistance is needed at this time for restaurant owners, cafes and nightclubs.
This is one of our worries. We haven't been announced in advance of the decision, we haven't consulted the schedule for municipalities that are closed and there will be no movement of people. We have uncertainty because it's not just specific about those municipalities that are closed or that are not closed... We as gastronomies were damaged not only in Kosovo, but in all countries of the world... We've been pretty hit. Now we are even more burdened by the closing period. I don't know how we're going to get out without the state's help when we know much of the companies haven't gotten paid yet. Also, we don't have any information for rent that 50 percent of the rent is finished for tenants”, he said.
Mejuani has even said that along with the first emergency package necessary, there is a special package in support of this sector.
We need more than ever to help get out of this situation. We had a package the first time and didn't hold on to that package. This has damaged us even more because we have had problems with workers and rents. The package has to be done, but we have to respect it to get out of this situation is necessary, and how soon we have to meet and see how we move forward, as we have lost jobs, bad loans will increase”, Mejuani said.
Although a large number of citizens who do not respect anti-compliance are seen in the cafe CO VID-19, the deputy chairman of the Gastronom Association, wants to become more inspections and fine IKSF recommendations violators.
We can't play the police. I invite the country to become as many inspections as possible today. I also recommend that penalties be imposed on citizens because we as owners and as businesses cannot conscious citizens of keeping distance and wearing” masks, Mejuani said.
The number of positive cases in Kosovo since the outbreak of pandemic on March 13th and so far is 3508, of which have healed 1902, 75 have died and active cases continue to be 1531.
