Eurostat's latest data show that Albania's gross divorce rate is not only the highest among all other countries in the region, but also higher than some European states, such as Malta, Slovenia, Romania, or Bulgaria.
Even data shows that in 2018, Albania had more divorces per population even than Italy.
In our country, for 2018, according to data released by the European Statistics Office, there were 1.7 divorces per 1,000 inhabitants.
Over the last five years reported, this rate has suffered significant fluctuations, from a minimum of 1.3 divorces per thousand in 2014, up to 1.9 divorces for every thousand people in 2016.
The data also shows that Albania has more divorces for population numbers than any other Western Balkan country.
Latvia and Lithuania have the highest number of donors in Europe, with about 3.1 per thousand inhabitants, while from the opposite side of the table we have Ireland, Slovenia, Bulgaria and Italy. /scan
