The economic crisis, created by the Pande-19 pandemic, will profoundly change the world economy towards ecology, digitalisation and work methods, and Europe is in a fine position in this situation, the ECB president Christine Lagarde praised today.

” This crisis will be an acceleration of transformations which were already launched in our economies”, she predicted, present in a video conference at the Aix-Seine economic meetings in Paris, the ATSH reports.

“In production, in work, in trade, what we've just tried will accelerate transformations and perhaps lead to an evolution towards a more stable and green way of life”, Lagarde added.

“Are currently estimated that the crisis should lead to a contraction of supply chains of about 35% and an increase of roboticisation in the industry from about 70 to 75%<1>, she said.

Furthermore, because of the closure that affected most of the planet's inhabitants at the same time, online trade has developed considerably. This development should speed up further in the future at the expense of the most traditional trade”, Lagarde added.

” Facing these transformations, Europe is in an excellent position to undertake this” movement, she stressed.
