Decision to Shut Down Chores Is Severely Opposed

The hasty and inconsiderate decision is calling the Private Pre-school Institution Association, the government's decision to suspend public and private nest work in the country. The head of this association, Gezim Rexhepi-Colaku, said they are in shock with this decision, as it says that from June 1st to today they have not had a case of infection with COVID-19 children in the nursery.

She said that with this decision many pre-school institutions are at risk of closing, as according to her, it is impossible to realise planned revenues.

We, as an association of private pre-school institutions, have been shocking news for us. Until we expected this, because until now since June 1st, we've taken the whole project so that we don't have a single chance in gardens and when it's known that this season by the total number of children only 20 percent of capacity has been continuing in the nursery. Which means all those parents who have brought their children to kindergartens, whether private or public, have been necessary to leave somewhere in the family... It's been a hasty and thoughtless decision, because parents have been responding during this time during these minutes since the news came out, they've been shocked that there are reactions and there are voices from parents who are able to protest in the absence of their children's arrangement.

Rexhepi-Culaku said that this current decision by the Government of Kosovo is endangered by bankruptcy by many private pre-school institutions.

“Businesses in this situation will sink and it's fear of total bankruptcy and after stabilisation, I hope that the pandemic will be completed, it's the risk that how many will be able to reopen private gardens”, she said.

The head of the Private Pre-School Institutions Association said it is impossible for them to keep the number of workers, because according to her they don't have how to pay their salaries for them.

With that decision of closure, she said the state would also suffer the consequences.

This is a direct disbalancing, because losses continue, revenues are not realized, the state is not only now that it does not support private gardens, but has never supported them. And just in this situation when I have to use some kind of transfusion so that we can stay and do our job properly they have not responded to even the only minimum support. However, this will also cost the state because all private gardens are considered businesses and fill the state ark. Educators in public gardens they even stay at home, even if their salaries just come true, we're impossible... the number of workers doesn't come in and keep, because it's impossible, you don't even have a minimum chance to keep all of them”, she said.

As a preventive measure to spread the COVID 19 virus, today the country's government has decided to suspend the work of private and public nests in the country.
