The number of cases of deaths in Kosovo as a result of COVID-19 in recent days has increased significantly. This has led the Government of Kosovo to restore even measures through which freedom of movement is restricted in several cities where there are many of the infected. According to data [...]
According to data from the National Institute of Public Health within the 5th and 7 July, a total of 16 people have died.
9 people died on July 5th, 4 people died on July 6, and 3 people died on July 7.
So the number of deaths from 66 on July 4th has totaled 82.
According to the IKSHP and health ministry reports, all cases of deaths from COVID-19 have reportedly had other accompanying diseases.
However, despite these alarming figures and Sunday's events at the Infectious Clinic, which was flooded by police, prosecutors and investigators, Health Minister Amend Zemaj, has said that there is no room for panic and that Kosovo still has the capacity to face pandemic. Sunday's (July 5th) deaths are currently under investigation, as there are suspicions that they may have occurred as a result of oxygen supply.
Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti, as a result of the situation created as he had presented new measures of limiting the movement, had indicated that he would add another 7 instruments for conducting tests for COVID-19, 6 of which would be distributed across the IKSHP points across the country, while 1 had indicated he would deploy to Pristina.
In addition, Hoti has indicated that he will cooperate with private hospitals to exploit them in the event of increasing the number of people burdened by COVID and also showed that private hospitals that will manage to be licensed will then be able to conduct tests for COVID-19.
The head of the government has already been invited to report to the Kosovo Assembly by the LDK's Arberie Nagavci initiative, following the latest situation created by the COVID-19 pandemic.
