Police in South Africa have said that five people were killed and more than 40 others were arrested after several shootings that occurred on Saturday morning, where there were hostages in a church near Johannesburg.
Police say they have rescued men, women and children who were held hostage by a group of armed men allegedly held hostage by people who had lived in church.
Police further said more than 30 weapons were found, adding that the attack may have been motivated by a row that could have occurred between members of this church and attackers.
The police statement reportedly included members of police, defence forces and correctional services among those arrested, writes The Guardian.
