Serbia's Foreign Minister, Ivica Dacic, said Serbia will soon have an answer for Kosovo that is continuing to lobby for recognition of independence, as Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti said such a process has not stopped. He said that in an agreement with Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq they will have an answer ready, Klan Kosova reports.
Daciq is saying he was not surprised by Hoti's statement and reminded that Belgrade, shortly after special envoy Richard Grenelli's announcement, voiced doubt that Pristina would respect the agreement to give up the lobby.
“They lie throughout the dialogue, lying is the basis of their existence. They do not want any agreement or compromise, they just want Serbia to recognise Kosovo”, Dacic told Sputnik.
He stressed that such behaviour is absolutely unacceptable to Serbia.
Dacic referred to a Twitter post on June 15th that Kosovo and Serbia have agreed to stop the evaluation campaign.
Great news! I have taken the commitment from the governments of Kosovo and Serbia that they will temporarily stop the recognition campaign and the application for international membership so that we can meet in Washington, DC at the White House on 27 June for discussions on dialogue”, Grenelli wrote.
