The World Health Organization said today that it is still possible to take control of the COVID-19 pandemic, even though the number of cases is more than doubled in the past six weeks.
There are many examples -- all over the world -- that have shown that even if the epidemic is too strong, it can still be brought under control”, said WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebrreesus, for reporters, reports ATS.
“Only aggressive counteraction, combined with national unity and global solidarity, could reverse the pandemic trajector”, he warned.
WHO leader once again stressed the importance of detection, tracking patients' cases and isolation to break up transmission chains.
