Citizens consider proposal-accusal unfair to Wessel Thaci

“Herojs of war and peace”, thus writes on Kosovo President Hashim Thaci and Democratic Party of Kosovo leader Kadri Veselin in the capital square in support of the glorious war of Kosovo Liberation Army. Last month, the Special Court in The Hague came up with a proposal against Thaci, [...]
Last month, the Special Court in The Hague emerged with a proposal against Thaci, Veselin and nine others from Kosovo for allegedly war crimes.
While Thaci and Wessel have denied claims on the proposal for alleged war crimes and said the only law that has violated is that of Balkan butcher Slobodan Milosevic, citizens say it has been wrong when this court was voted by the Kosovo Assembly.
Bejtullah Hajdari from Pristina told Kosovo Pristina that the proposal-taxes towards Thaci and Wessel are unfair and that he as a citizen calls on political parties to become together and work for the same goal.
It's a very serious situation and it's an unfair accusation, because they're founders of today's freedom, who enjoy generations after us... Kosovo must mobilise to leave party divisions, and all work for the same purpose. Either the court is abolished or the truth is that these are really Kosovo's deliverers, not criminals”.
While, Qazim Berisha says that if Thaci and Wessel are convicted, then a major unjust damage will be caused when Serbia is known to have committed terrible war crimes and has not received due punishment.
It's a disaster to punish a country president for us. It means the mayor of Kosovo being punished for Albanianism, and this is a disaster for us”.
And another is criticising the very formation of the Special Court, and therefore Rizah Syla from Pristina wishes Thaci and Wessel would be acquitted.
The “20 changed last year, they've been looking for this court themselves, nobody's been pushing it. We called him ourselves, we voted with pleasure. Was it like that?
Even Zeka Jetullahu recalls the crimes committed in Kosovo by the Serbian aggressor, who has so far not apologised for all those murders he committed against the innocent Albanian population.
We've suffered from Serbs since we did this. They killed us, they burned us in the fire, they did it all to us”
News of Thaci's proposal to Wessel came days before the Kosovo-Serbia meeting was held on 27 June at the White House.
The head of state was announced while traveling to Washington until the latter had cancelled his participation.
The Special Court for War Crimes is a temporary court with limited mandate and headquarters at The Hague.
This court operates independently and is financed mainly by the European Union.
It is founded with the decision of the Kosovo Assembly.
