Citizens pay up to 120 euros for test for coronavirus

A.J. has paid 120 euros in a private laboratory in Pristina to run a test through which he was interested in understanding whether he is affected by COVIDD-19, the disease causing the new coronobrus. He needed a negative result of PCR test, in order to travel [...]

He needed a negative result of PCR test, in order to travel abroad.

That's why A.J. decided to pay 120 euros to conduct this test, which is currently done only at the National Public Health Institute (IKSHPK).

After setting the term, A. J., says he went to the lab in Pristina, where he was taken samples through the protrusion in the nose.

As announced by lab workers, the sample was sent for testing in northern Macedonia.

I took the test a week ago. Targets Sent to Macedonia (v.j. North, then the results give in Pristina in Macedonian. But, the test was accepted at the” limit, says A. J for Free Europe Radio.

According to the Kosovo institutions decision, testing with the PCR method for coronarys in Kosovo can only be done at the National Public Health Institute (IKSHPK).

But A.J., that's exactly what the test says it has managed to do through a laboratory in Pristina.

My nose has been taken (the sample) because blood says I don't have proof. Without the letter I needed nothing. I needed it to cross the”.

A. He had travelled towards Montenegro and had not had any problems crossing the border.

Labs refuse to perform such services

Throughout various groups on the social Facebook network, citizens have repeatedly requested recommendations for institutions that conduct tests with the PCR method.

In the past few days, many people have publicly written that they had conducted such tests in private labs.

However, a large number of commentators have confessed how they had paid between 50 and 120 euros for tests, with which they were not allowed to cross the border with northern Macedonia or Montenegro.

In the “group Network Pristina” on Facebook, which has over 28,000 members, citizens still continue to show countries where they conducted tests.

Radio Free Europe has contacted some of the labs mentioned in comments, but they have denied doing some kind of test for COVID-19.

Others have not even continued the discussion as soon as they were asked if they were doing coronary tests.

Radio Free Europe has tried to contact the Avicena Laboratory, which one of the labs mentioned in comments, but no one has responded to phone calls.

During the moon, REL, he also sent questions to this lab through email, but they haven't returned.

Inspectorate Begins Investigations
At the Ministry of Health in Kosovo, they confirm they have accepted convictions from citizens for tests being conducted by private labs.

This institution has confirmed to Radio Free Europe that the healthcare Inspectorate has launched investigations, as no private institution has so far been licensed to conduct tests for SARS-COV-2.

The Ministry of Health has accepted various complaints from citizens regarding tests for COVIDD-19 in the private sector, despite none of the private institutions is licensed to conduct SARS-COV-2 tests. The healthcare inspector is investigating these claims. In Kosovo, there are microbiology labs, but so far none of them have been licensed for tests for COVID-19”, said the Health Ministry's response to Radio Free Europe.

In the Health Ministry, they say that with the procedure plan for testing for the government's-19 approved COVID-19, serial testing for the virus “SARS COV-2” will also be allowed in private institutions, but always after they meet the set criteria.

Private labs will be allowed to run only serological tests, but not even the PCR [Polymerase Chain Reaction], which determines whether the virus is active in the human body.

And serological tests are the ones that can be proven if a person had a coronary. Unlike tests by the National Public Health Institute so far in writing, nose, or mouth, the serological test is done through blood samples.

Kosovars neither in the region without negative tests

Kosovars find it impossible to travel even to the countries of the region, both in northern Macedonia and Montenegro, without having a document proving they have resulted negative in testing for COVID-19.

These two countries made decisions to prevent the introduction of Kosovars, as in Kosovo, the numbers of infected persons rose dramatically in recent weeks.

Days ago, Germany's state announced all persons travelling from Kosovo will not be accepted for tests on COVID-19 conducted in Kosovo, including those conducted by IKSF.

According to German authorities, every person since Kosovo travels to Germany is obliged to be isolated for 14 days.

What's the test? PCR?

Through test P. CR [Polymerse Chain Reaction] correctly determines whether the virus exists in the body. This method is based on the analysis of strisho samples in the nose.

With the number of infected persons increasing, Kosovo's National Public Health Institute has begun not to test all persons who appear or even contact cases.

Currently, only those who have the most expressed symptoms of COVID-19 are still tested in Kosovo.
