BQK announces competition for the new “Economists”

In office of promoting research among Kosovo's new economists, the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (BQK) has created the possibility of granting a price for better research presented by young economists.

Works for this price should be in the field of financial sector and economic development in Kosovo, with particular emphasis, adapting to new circumstances created during 2020 in the country and the world economy. Praising the survey of circumstances created by COVIDD-19, this time the topic that needs to be expounded is Kosovo's “Economia in times of pandemic, the effects of COVID-19 on the local and international economy”.

In this regard, the CEC will host a special event for announcing the best works delivered.

Accession Rules

1. The subject delivered must meet the criteria of scientific work. It may be in the form of a degree, postgraduate, or doctoral aunt (PhD) theme.

2. The authors for this application prepare the exclusive topic, which can be completed during the opening application competition phase. In competition with the submitted job, the candidate must be the lead author.

3. The theme must be written in Albanian or English.

4. Format: Handover work should not have more than 25 pages, type of writing to be Times New Roman 12, double space. The executive summary should not be longer than one page, and the list of all references must join the work.

5. The selection commission consisting of BEC staff and a representative from the academic field, not only selecting works that will be published by the CEC, but may also suggest one or more by competitive young economists to be rewarded at the price.

The selection committee will judge the works using general criteria approved by BEC leaders: (a) subject interest in the Kosovo, international economy (b) the quality of scientific research or synthesis, and (c) the quality of writing. In addition, the research and writings of others involved in the submitted work should be well identified in the bulletins and bibliographic references.

6. The first prize will be rewarded at 1000 euros, the second prize at 700 euros, and the third prize at 500 euros.

7. Without prejudging the No.6 final decision on the number of rewards depends on the quality of the works presented and will be finally made by the selection commission. Therefore, it is not binding for the number of rewards to be one or more.

8. The winners of previous awards and current employees of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo cannot apply their works in the competition.

9. Students interested in the application can apply: handing over their works to an electronic version (pdf) on [email protected], accompanied by three written copies sent to the address: Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (BQK), Attn. The BQK Award for Young Economists, Garibaldi Street No. 33, Pristina, Republic of Kosovo; name of the theme leader and University/ The corresponding faculty (if students cooperate with their teachers during the topic); and the copy of identification.
