Residents of Italy's smallest village are celebrating the arrival of the youngest resident, born eight years ago.
The population of the village of Morterone, a mountainous settlement in Lombardi, rose to 29 after the birth of the baby named Dennis on Sunday day, writes The Guardian, records Periscope.
“It's a real community holiday,” said Antonella Invernizzi, chairman of Morterone.
Dennis's parents, Matteo and Sarah, followed the Italian tradition of birth announcement by placing a blue ribbon for boys and pink for girls at their door. It's the first time a such ribbon has been seen in the village since 2012, when a girl was born.
Dennis was born at Alessandro Manson Hospital in Lecco, and he weighs 6 pounds.
Morterone is classified as the smallest Italian settlement because of the small number of populations. Population has fallen to 28 recently because of the death of the village mayor's father. /Periscope
