Aviation giant Boeing said he will stop producing his classic 747 aircraft and that he plans job cuts.
Boeing said he plans to slow down the production of other species.
The warning comes after the company found that it lost $2.4 billion as a result of the decline in air travel requirements caused by the coronary pandemic.
The reality is that the impact of pandemic on the aviation sector continues to be heavy”, said Boeing chief Dave Calhoun.
Air companies all over the world have reduced their fleets or postponed or canceled travel orders, due to losses caused by the pandemic.
This month, British Airways has reportedly removed all 747 aircraft, or 10 percent of the fleet, citing the decline in passenger numbers as reasons.
Boeing also said slowing production could mean more job cuts from 16,000 than it has already planned.
“We are taking appropriate action to ensure a better position in the future”, Calhoun said.
