Gashi was expelled from the Islamic Community of Kosovo because of his differing beliefs about the creation of the world. He had openly shown that he believed in the theory of evolution and thus received the most liberal Hoja label in Kosovo.
As for the new mosque, he also expresses his criticism of BIK by saying “they are building the church of millions so that the fukara can go there and pray for a living.
Mr. Gashi from Pec after BIK's expulsion has been laid off.
