AAK MP Arber Tolaj, at today's session of the Kosovo Assembly, has raised his concern and the party he belongs to in connection with the gastronomy sector.
Tolaj has said that Kosovo government measures are deeply damaging this sector.
“Based on analysis of economic experts, as a result of COVID 19, currently thousands of businesses in the country are in serious condition, and among business activities, almost more prone to the effects of Pandemia, Gastronomy remains. Therefore, as a result of the situation created, in Kosovo we risk defaulting on many business activities, as long as thousands of jobs are expected, Tolaj has said.
Tolaj has said that the move restrictions by 9:00 in several cities will be reviewed. According to him, this restriction is meaningless.
“Referring to the situation created, I consider that the decision to limit working hours for the Gastronomy sector should be reviewed by the Government of Kosovo, because reducing the hours until 9:00, really seems meaningless. What is 4-5 hours less movement when other measures are respected. These hours of movement don't have much effect on lowering the number of cases. While 4-5 hours less work, it means a lot about the profit of each restaurant and the coffee shop at the site<x1...
MP Tolaj has said that the time of the right to work and move will be extended until 1: 00 a.m., provided the recommended measures are respected.
And I appreciate that it would be good for Gastronomy's schedule to extend at least 00: 00 p.m., understood by respecting social distance measures, developing activity in open spaces, wearing masks by employees, regular space disinfectation, employee hygiene, and other necessary measures preventing the rise of cases with COVIOW<1>, Tolaj said in progress.
Tolaj, in the end, has said she expects the Kosovo government to commit to economic recovery and to address the private sector, which is in a serious situation because of pandemic, with priority.
We expect the country's government to engage in economic recovery, as well as to seriously address the current situation, because the private sector, aside from Gastronomy, is on the verge of bankruptcy, and Kosovo has no capacity to cope with this” situation, MP Tolaj has finally stressed.
