Over 300 unemployed doctors in Kosovo, 9% of coronary medical personnel

More than 300 doctors in Kosovo are estimated to be unemployed, of which, according to statistics by the Kosovo Medical Oda, 60 per cent think leaving Kosovo.

Among them, according to the president of the Kosovo Medical Oda, Plerat Sejdiu, are also part of many specialists who, in the impossible to find a job, see their future outside Kosovo.

Speaking of this phenomenon, Sejdiu stopped at doctors' specialisations, adding that if this process fails in terms of 100 doctors, then their only option would be to look for a job in European countries.

I think that by this moment there are 300 doctors who are young professionals and employed and unemployed doctors who have only asked or left. Some 60 percent of doctors believe that at the opening of the gates, we expect 300 to 400 doctors to move away. Now with this competition that the Ministry of Health for Temporary Employment has made to help with the capacities that we have limited and needs support, and some of the medical work can be monitored”, he said of EO.

The issue of payment has been a third problem, but others have been conditions and specializations. If specialisations are opened and that process is fair, then there will be hope to be accepted. But if this process fails as far as 100 doctors are concerned, then it's done and we're going to lose these young doctors”, Sejdiu added.

Sejdiu has also talked about pandemics, saying that as the number of infected doctors in the Infectious Clinic increased, so has their fatigue, which for months have been on the front line. But according to Sejdiu, the infection level has already entered medical personnel and it is impossible to avoid.

A matter that's obvious to doctors is fatigue, which has begun to manifest not only physically but also psychicly to doctors who for four months have been on the front line and our sorrow is in the possibility and reorganization and refreshing of these frameworks, especially in the Infectious Clinic and Institut. In some sectors it is impossible to become an update. There is no front because the level of infection of medical personnel has increased and we have it within health institutions, because we are all in the front front of”, Sejdiu added.

Among other things, Sejdiu pointed out that 9 percent of medical personnel are infected and self - possessed.

“9 percent of the infected are medical personnel from them to doctors, between 35 and 40 doctors who are infected. Part of them 90 are healed and turned back while 30 doctors are infected and are in isolation. We don't discuss payments”, he added.

He said they have no information on whether all doctors have received their salaries from Emergency Package, adding that managers are responsible for the lists. According to him, the Oda of Doctors and the Federation of Unions have applied from the government in terms of additional salaries for doctors.

On the other hand, Sejdiu stressed that protests will be held, where he will express their frustrations.

I don't have any information on whether all the doctors received their salaries from the emergency package, because part of them were at home. And there's been dissatisfaction with the managers even there because that's what they've been doing with the” lists. “Now we are in a phase of annulment of the Law for Salaries, and we have all gathered together with the Federation of Unions and made concrete demands by the government, where one of those demands has been that the government make a decision for additional payments within two weeks to reach the level of monetary sum which were envisioned with the wage law that has been eliminated”, Sejdiu said.

We will be able to make sure that this law, along with the 2021 budget, is approved on November 1st so that next year we can start with regular wages. The government has already appealed to approve the budget in the Assembly. We in the strikes will not enter, but the protests will certainly be held, where we will express our displeasure”, Sejdiu added.
