The Swiss Parliament's Lower Chamber adopted a bill today that will allow the marriage of the same gender.
Despite conservative opposition, MPs also voted for lesbian couples to use sperm to conceive.
The law has not yet been adopted by parliament's Upper Chamber, Kosovo Press broadcasts.
“With 132 votes pro and 52 against, and 13 abstentions, the National Council says "yes" for true equality, the Human Rights Organisation Pink Cross reported on Twitter, using hashtag, which means “marriage for all”.
Switzerland adopted a law protecting the LGBTQ community from discrimination only in February.
The bill came to parliament 13 years after Switzerland legalised the civic partnership.
A February Pink Cross survey found that more than 80 percent of Switzerland support the marriage of the same gender.
