Russia's northernmost cities are being surprised at the recent temperatures, which are far from well with the country.
On June 20th, the Siberian town of Verkojanski marked temperatures 38 degrees Celsius, an absolute record for the region.
While the figure is expected to be confirmed by the World Meteorology Organisation, experts are concerned as they consult maps showing that Russia's areas are in the midst of a hot wave that has swept across the Arctic generations.
