The spread of conspiracy theories, myths and ideologies for the coronavirus

“Theories of the plot”

To describe this phenomenon, there is the notion “theor plot” in Germany. But that is not correct, because this also implies the existence of a fact-based theory, says Professor Pia Lamberty, of the University of Mainz. “If the facts do not match the theory, at a certain moment this theory should change or be rejected as false”, Lambert tells DW. But this doesn't happen in conspiracy theories. ”

Political adviser Johannes Hillje writes on Twitter that the notion “theor” even sounds like a notion of scientific basis, which does not deserve it. Hille fears that “theories of the plot” can even be understood as a “counterer” of scientific ones.

Mythology and Stories

Statements such as those held by a secret group in the United States, thousands of kidnapped children, and certain people are drinking their blood to remain new are also being held on various networks and pages. The people who spread theories like this say that American President Donald Trump is the one who will eliminate these things. While his predecessor, Barack Obama, and former Trump's opponent in the 2016 elections, Hillary Clinton are counted as members of this group.
