Shasha: Hoti must have support of 2/3 of MPs for restarting dialogue with Serbia

Institute Executive Director E PIC, Demush Shasha estimates that the government led by Abduallah Hoti in relation to Kosovo-Serbia dialogue should have the support of 2/3 of Kosovo Assembly deputies. Shasha says that Hoti must have a political platform which should be in the Parliament on the interior political plain and abroad should ensure that there is no division between the United States of America and the European Union regarding the question of dialogue.
The government must follow two aspects in terms of dialogue with Serbia, the first is the inside one where Prime Minister Hoti, who at the decision of the Constitutional Court, must be chief negotiator, should ensure an internal political consensus, should secure support of 2/3 in the Kosovo Assembly for launch of negotiations”, the director of the talks has said. EPIC Shasha, online Economics.
“must be voted a political platform for launching negotiations with Serbia, a team should be voted in and the principles and red lines of the” should be defined.
The second “is the outside one where Prime Minister Hoti must ensure that there is only one dialogue and that it is the European Union-led dialogue in line with the UN resolution. He should also provide the support of the United States of America. He must make sure that there is no division among our traditional, transatlantic partners”, he said.
But he says this will be a challenge for Prime Minister Abdullah Hotin to ensure 2/3, which was elected prime minister by only 61 votes, which, according to him, without a prior consent, is unacceptable to resume dialogue.
“This will be a political challenge, but as difficult as it is, it is extremely unacceptable that dialogue begins without a preliminary consent without a preliminary mandate of 2/3 in the Kosovo Assembly”.
As for the public debate on whether dialogue should be led by the EU or the US, Shasha says there is a full agreement between the goals of dialogue.
He says Hoti is obliged to provide mutual support, while the issue of borders according to him will not be a topic of discussion.
“The US and the EU fully agree on the objective or goal of dialogue, now it is over the prime minister to ensure first political cohesion in Pristina and then political cohesion at the International Plain”.
“As long as we have statements in public discurs as an idea but never as the Kosovo side's proposal or position, all political parties have indiscriminately declared that territorial integrity is incompatible, subsequently in line with political attitudes in no form of Kosovo's territorial integrity can be the subject of discussion under the Kosovo-Serbia <x1) dialogue, he has said.
