Saudi Arabia has recorded 3,717 new cases of coronary and 36 new deaths, the country's Health Ministry suggested today. This is the highest number of infections, according to government statistics.
The Kingdom has had more than 3,000 infected with the virus that causes Covid-19 for the last four days, bringing the total number of infected people to at least 112,228. At least 819 people have died, the ministry added, writes CNN.
Saudi Arabia now has the largest number of cases of the pandemic virus in the Gulf region, despite having adopted one of the strongest measures of impasse in the Middle East.
The capital of Riyadh and the Islamic holy cities of Mecca and Medina were subjected to 24-hour restrictions in April, and movements were limited during the Ramadan and Bajrami holiday.
