U n NICEF has called for respecting COVID-19 precautionary measures aimed at protecting every child in Kosovo

“Maska, distance, hygiene”, these are U's requests NICEF for respecting preventive measures against COVID-19 with the aim of protecting every child in Kosovo.

“Saving child and community health remains a top priority for UNICEF. We are in partnership with institutions, civil society, media, parents and young people in order to react and recover from the effects of COVID-19. Significant progress has been achieved, but much more needs to be done in creating a new normality. I myself practice and urge all to practice three simple steps <x1mmascal, distance, hygiene” to protect each other said Murat Sahin, chief of the Kosovo UNICEF Office.

Since the beginning of the explosion, U n NICEF has provided 7.1 tonnes of personal safety equipment (PMP) for the Ministry of Health, where 10% of them have been distributed to the health institutions of the Serbian community. 20,000 packages of family hygiene and additional equipment for children have been distributed through the Kosovo Red Cross to families in need with U's financial support USAID in Kosovo and Luxembourg Government. U n NICEF will continue to provide technical assistance, delivery of essential supplies, effective communication support to ensure the protection of children's rights and their families.

Pristina, June 19, 2020, until the number of cases with COVID-19 continues to rise, U n NICEF requires that you take care of your health and well-being and protect others. While the rate and scale of the explosion are presenting countless challenges, U n NICEF calls on the company of three simple precautions to reduce the chances of infecting or spreading COVID-19:

· Keep masks in public spaces.

· Keep at least five feet of distance from others.

· Wash your hands regularly with soap and water.

Over the next few months, in consultation with the Ministry of Health and WHO, U n NICEF will bring 37.5 tonnes of personal safety equipment (PMP) to first-line healthcare workers. These essential supplies have been made available through generous support of the Luxembourg government by 19 tonnes (2,476,900 units). PMP, Japan's Embassy in Kosovo with 9.5 tonnes (993,750 PMP) and the Trust Fund for Reaction and Regeneration from COVID-19 of GDP with 9-ton (916,700 PMP).

U n NICEF praises the efforts of donors, institutions and other partners and is committed to continuing with this strong partnership in order to meet the needs of people affected by COVID 19. /Lajmi.net/
