In Kosovo, requirements have been put on hold for dialogue with Serbia to be put on pause, following the statement issued by The Hague's Specialised Prosecutor's Office for the indictment filed against President Hashim Thaci, under suspicion that he has committed war crimes.
This need has been eased, despite the fact that official Belgrade has not seen this development as an obstacle to continuing the dialogue, whether Kosovo is represented by the head of state, KOHA writes.
The special has published the announcement of the indictment filed against Thaci, and even against Democratic Party leader Kadri Wessel, the day Kosovo delegation was on its way to Washington, where on 27 June it was scheduled to hold a meeting on the level of presidents and prime ministers of Kosovo and Serbia, under the mediation of Ambassador Richard Green, special envoy of President Donald Trump for negotiations between the two countries.
After the Kosovo delegation refused to appear at the meeting in this situation, Yerenelli has cancelled the meeting and warned that he will announce a new date. Meanwhile, other dialogue initiatives, including the organisation of the Paris Summit by French President Emmanuel Macron, have been mentioned for July.
Imer Mushkolaj is a publicist and considers whether or not the indictment against the head of state is confirmed or not, the damage has been caused. According to him, Thaci should not participate in the dialogue.
