World Day of Refugees aims to warn of the suffering of tens of millions of refugees worldwide.
On World Day of Refugees, many have no hope of returning to their former homeland. Millions of families have lost their homes during conflicts of violence and war. So the General Assembly decided that June 20th would be marked as World Refugees Day.
World Day of Refugees is founded by the United Nations to honor the courage, strength, and determination of women, men and children who are forced to flee their homes under threat of persecution, conflict and violence.
Europe is currently going through a refugee crisis that has begun when the great influx of people began to flee from the conflict in the Middle East and Africa.
The recent reports of the United Nations Organization show that over 70 million people have fled their countries because of global wars.
