He added that he would no longer allow people's gatherings, even for political gatherings, referring to protests that took place in Tirana last weeks.
Rama warned businesses to respect health safety protocols for preventing the spread of the infection, as they would otherwise face sanctions until freedom is lifted.
“Virus has no legs, but he uses the feet of human stupidity, and there is no other way for stupidity than zero for anyone who shows it and wherever it appears in his arm”, Rama said.
On Tuesday, the Ministry of Health reported record daily numbers of 82 infected people, marking the fourth day in a row with increasing cases.
The huge increase in the number of cases affected by COVID-19 in Albania comes at the time when all mandatory business closure measures, quarantine and isolation are being lifted in the country.
The virus has left 37 people dead since the first cases in Albania appeared in March.
In Albania 1,672 persons have been infected, of which 1,064 have recovered. Currently, there are 571 active cases with COVID-19.
