Producers suffered turnovers for 60% cause of pandemic

The damages caused in the economy due to the spread of Coronavirus are considered difficult to repair. Kosovo Producers Club Chairman Astrit Panja said many local producers have declared driving decline for 60%. According to him, the pandemic has affected not only the production sectors but also gastronomy.

He said that the closure of businesses during the pandemic, the lack of revenues from many companies, and the lack of liquidation in the economy has caused purchasing power and consumption to fall.

The “Dations that have been caused by the economy are very dimensional, and in April we have conducted a survey with other business organisations where we have received an impact from companies on the damages that have been caused it has been the first phase of closure due to the pandemic where 60% of the production businesses have claimed that they have had a drop in their return”.

The “we at this stage are at the top conclusion of the second poll we've made at the World Bank, and we'll soon come up with preliminary results. But during conversation with economic actors, especially in the production sector, there is a decline due to pandemic. There is also a decline in the food sector that has been working with gastronomy due to the long closure of this sector has also been reduced in product sales. So during this period we can't say that a company has won under these circumstances. Kosovo's territory economy has also been damaged because of the transition where the emergency package has not yet been implemented”.

And because of the lack of consumption and lack of business, where citizens who have stayed at home have had only food products, and therefore there has been a decline in the economy because of consumption, because many companies have not had incomes and have had trouble paying salaries in the private sector. The second aspect is the lack of liquidity in the economy. When purchasing power falls and there is no consumption then even businesses won't have enough raffles”, Panja added.

Among other things, Panja has said that citizens are not respecting recommendations given by the Health Ministry for keeping distance and wearing a mask.

This, according to him, is disturbing to the fact that every day we have an increase in the number of infected.

Panja added that if there are yet austerity measures to protect public health damages in the economy, even greater, El reports.

Unfortunately, citizens are not respecting recommendations given by the Health Ministry for keeping distance, wearing a mask. It's very disturbing for us to see the drastic growth in the number of infected people. This can also be reflected in the additional measures the Kosovo government can take for control of this pandemic”.

Unfortunately, always in public health protection, the economy is getting worse, and if we go with the second phase of quarantine or additional austerity measures, they'll be harmful to businesses because companies have only started to retake themselves to the gradual phase, but if we have second closure then it will be fatal for the Kosovo economy. So we appeal to citizens to keep their distance, businesses that work with citizens to abide by the rules from IKKPK”, he added.

He said they are waiting for financing for the Emergency Pack to close, and the remaining ones must be approved as a review of the budget in the Assembly.

We are in the phase of planning the recovery package and we are hoping that it will be adopted very soon because we don't have time to lose. Therefore, financing for emergency packages and left unpaid budget revision should be approved in parliament, and with the recovery package we are hoping to have a new impact on the economy where the government, along with business organisations, will complete this planning and add new dynamics to the Kosovo economy”.

Panja stressed that the government has not divided means for the production sector only, but has been the 13th measure to be planned for growth of exports to the amount of 10m euros, which has not yet been implemented.

He said a large number of workers are awaiting salaries from the Emergency Package, reports EO.

The government has not only divided tools for production, but has been the 13th measure that is planned for export growth in the amount of 10m euros, but it has not only been implemented, the tools have been shared, but it has not been planned how to distribute to producer”.

“A large number of workers have been declared not accepting any means from the government and waiting for means, the other aspect has been postponing taxes for all sectors”.
