He has interrupted the trip yesterday after the announcement made public by the Specialised Prosecutor's Office regarding the initiative to establish the indictment against him and PDK leader Kadri Weselin.
“The president of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, following the announcement made public by the Specialised Prosecutor's Office regarding the initiative to establish the indictment has interrupted the official trip to the United States of America, where he was invited to participate in the framework of the dialogue process between Kosovo and Serbia”, the President's Office confirmed yesterday.
On Saturday, June 27th, it was meant to hold a meeting between Kosovo representatives and Serbia at the White House, but after canceling the president's trip, Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti cancelled his participation.
The annulment of Saturday's meeting was confirmed by President Trump's envoy for Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Richard Green, who said that a further date for the implementation of this failed meeting would be set.
