President Hashim Thaci is taught that he has confirmed that there will be no continuation of their mandate, and there will be no correspondence between him and the European Union for the EULEX mission in Kosovo.
Fearful and unable to obtain correspondence, from sources within intelligence institutions it is taught that there are doubts that the mission EULEX is using illegal means through their former status, which are already part of the Specialised Prosecutor's Office and Specialised Chambers, to indirectly blackmail President Thaci with a special court indictment.
Without correspondence, the EULEX mission in Kosovo is illegal and they cannot continue to stay in our country without the will of Kosovo institutions.
The president's office has confirmed that there has been no correspondence between President Thaci and the EU for continuing EULEX's mandate in.
In response to Insider, from the President's Office, they have shown that the Kosovo Presidency has seen no reason to continue EULEX's current mandate as a major mission, especially since Kosovo institutions have long, according to the presidency's response, are fully competent to carry out every task.
Kosovo's long-standing “Institutions are able to take over all the competencies it has held EULEX. Therefore, it has been the request of Kosovo authorities that EULEX's mandate and EU presence be reduced in the area of rule of law and be the same as in other countries in the region”, it says in response.
In addition, from the president's office, they say there has been great pressure for the continuation of EULEX's existing mandate, but it is said that President Hashim Thaci has announced at any meeting that EULEX's mandate was under way in 2018, and this has been the last time that this “mandate has been extended, there has been no correspondence, nor negotiations on continuing EULEX's mandate. But there has been great pressure, for weeks, to continue the existing EULEX mandate”, the president's office say.
“President Thaci at meetings with EU and EULEX representatives has indicated that Kosovo is grateful for continued assistance in empowering the rule of law in Kosovo and assessing the EULEX mission as successful. But now is the time for all EULEX competencies to pass to local institutions. Kosovo no longer needs EULEX, but will accept any support in strengthening the rule and law on the part of the EU, as in the countries of the region. E ULEX currently has no mandate to stay in Kosovo”, Kosovo President Hashim Thaci's Office reply concludes.
On the other hand, Insander, he's been trying to get an answer all day for this from his mission. EULEX, but despite questions submitted about this issue, they have not yet returned answers.
We remember yesterday that the Specialised Prosecutor's Office has filed charges against Kosovo President Hashim Thaci and PDK Chairman Kadri Wessel. This indictment contains ten points for investigation by the Court, where Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselin and others are charged with a series of crimes against humanity and war crimes, among which the illegal murder, forced disappearance of persons, persecution and torture.
