The increase in recent days in the number of cases with COVID-19 has called into question keeping the achievement and senior test. Although it has been decided Monday that these two tests will be held, the decision can already be revised.

Pressing on these tests is also asking the Council of Parents of Kosovo, where its chairman, Ymret Resiti, through a written reply, told Kosova Preress that they have requested this.

He says parents have a high priority on the health of children and that this is actually their only concern and not the deadlines of keeping tests.

This wave of pandemic brings us to a state of emergency where we all need to be careful and effective. We as the Parents' Council recommend that you postpone taking the test for classes 9 to new circumstances that will create a safe environment for students' health”, Resiti said.

In doubt whether these two tests should be held when there are so many cases with COVID-19, there are also the deputies of the Kosovo Assembly, members of the Commission for Education.

LVV MP Fitim Uka says it is unclear how a decision is made that these tests be held without a literal analysis taking place.

There is no real strategy for what will happen if some of the students are infected with COVID-19 in this period. Situated in such a situation, I judge that such a decision is reckless and definitely not well thought out”, he says.

Even the MP The PDK, Sejdiu Hoxha, says keeping these tests poses danger to students.

Keeping these tests poses a risk and concern for all students and their families. I think that this process should go co-ordinated with the Ministry of Health, with the ICH, respectively, respecting all health regulations, so that there won't be new cases of student infection in Kosovo schools... Even in keeping the senior prom and arrival test, we'll have special care, and that's what professionals have to talk about. Of course, organisers will keep the main burden, respectively, because if they cannot create conditions that are required under the rules of pandemic, then this could be fatal for many families and many students who are carrying tests in this pandemic situation”, he said.

But a good organisation on the part of the Ministry of Education and Science, where all recommendations of health institutions and without risking students, for Youth Qehaja from the EdGard Institute, are possible.

He says the Ministry of Education and Science is the institution that is responsible for organising these tests, which, according to him, should ensure an organisation that the assessment is reliable and at no time being violated by the welfare of students during the trial.

Certification tests such as prom tests are difficult to organise online, since if they were, would be extremely vulnerable to the level of the same. While August has offered instructions for the preparation of the preparation period, I have an impression that a day of testing should not be a problem for student safety. But, above all, it would then guarantee a more reliable outcome compared to that online. Always on the presumption that the ministry will take sufficient measures even for literal testing management, which goes beyond pandemic, so that we can make sure there are no abuses and misuses during the” testing, he says.

That these tests could be postponed, says Minister of Education and Science Rame Likaj, who for Kosovo Press, stated that depending on the situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, they will make a decision.

Likaj claims that at the meeting he had with the DKA, it has been announced that all preparations have been made for the arrival test, but that it says it will be consulted again due to the increase in number of coronary cases.

He points out that the health of students, teachers, is a priority.

All the directors have said they have made all the necessary preparations and they have taken over that they are willing to organise such a test. Of course the situation has gotten worse, we'll still be in consultation. I will once again address each of the municipal education directors as to whether they are able to guarantee that they will stick to the manual or the guides that the Health Ministry has launched for measures to be taken to protect the health of students, the teaching staff and their family. If we get their consent once again in writing, then we will proceed according to plan that is preceded by”, says Minister Likaj.

The arrival test for the ninth classes is scheduled for June 23rd, and the senior on July 4th.
