The finance ministry has cancelled the competition for the election of Kosovo Customs General Director.
This minister warns that the competition for this position will soon be re-stolled as the legal office of this ministry has demanded that this process be closed.
And for Deputy Finance Minister Agim Krasniqi this process has been interrupted from having implications in the political sense.
Krasniqi has encouraged all candidates who have been in the race to run again, as it will be an even more transparent process.
This process has been shut down at the moment so that we can make sure we reach agreement with the English and with the Americans that help me with this process without any implications or interference in the political sense, and soon, this will be resurgent. We encourage everyone with competition and assure everyone that transparency will be complete, and whoever deserves to be there will be”, Krasniqi says.
He said it's of interest that customs worked properly and realized the income plan.
For us it's of the interest that Customs has with [ IS1 properly and fulfilled the revenue plan. So we all encourage competing, even those who have competed with competition and others, to ensure that it will be a transparent, well supervised process and without any implications or interference in the political sense... Normal, it was legally required because the legal office has demanded that this process be closed once and the process of starting” begins, he says.
We remember that in April, former Finance Minister Besnik Bislim had suspended the competition for the selection of Customs director with the reasoning of the country's pandemic show.
Like some public institutions and companies that have remained with the office of the general director, Kosovo Customs is in this situation, despite the competition for the director of Customs was announced on February 12th this year by the Ministry of Finance.
Otherwise, former incumbent Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, shortly before he released the prime minister's office, had continued his mandate to Customs Director Bahri Berisha.
But, in the first days of the current government, incumbent Prime Minister Albin Kurti annulled Haradinaj's decision to enable the competition's announcement to be delivered regularly.
In the last contest of the Ministry of Finance, for general director of Kosovo Customs, 26 people had applied, of them 11 are Customs officials. Among the applicants were former director Bahri Berisha and current manager Ibrahim Jaka's task manager.
It is learned that the candidates for the first customs position were Bekim Mehmetaj, Arlind Limani, Bashtri Bardi, Agim Nika, Irfan Feyzullahu, Bahri Berisha, Ibrahim Jaka, Agron Llugaliu, Aslan Nundmann, Gazmen Maloku, Skender Neziri, Osman Neri, Bashfi, Agron Sadiku, Besim Chimza, Emrem Hajdari, Dritton Kurliman and Bellas Colaku, and eight other candidates in the race for Dogan's office.
