Albania's President Ilir Meta has reacted after receiving news of handing over charges to President Hashim Thaci and former Parliament Speaker Kadri Veseli.
Meta said the Kosovo Liberation Army's fight against the Milosevic regime was right.
The KLA war, which was imposed on the people of Kosovo by the oppression and genocide of the Milosevic criminal regime, proved to be fair and decisive, not only for the freedom and foundation of the Republic of Kosovo at internationally recognised borders, but also for its peace, stability and European future and our region's”.
The first of the Albanian state said Thaci and Wessel would testify that they are innocent.
“We believe in the innocence of President Hashim Thaci, former Speaker of the Parliament, Kadri Veselin and all their fellow fighters. Even before, charges have been filed against former KLA leaders, but their innocence and the justice of war have been confirmed. We believe this will happen again.
