From 7 grand a month, as before the virus, this figure has now increased by 40 times more, sending the country to record numbers.
To ease this unemployment, the government must prepare a comprehensive package for economic recovery.
So said GAP Institute Research Director Online Mehmeti.
Mehmeti argued that the age of job seekers, with 60 percent of them of working age 25 to 39.
In his view, there will be a large influx of migration if the situation is not achieved.
The data shows that during March-April we have a huge increase in job seekers registered in our country. During April we had a record record of some 32,000 people registered, which 1600 people are registered as unemployed each day. We've analyzed the gender aspect, and it turns out that half of them are women, and that means that women are affected by pandemic in terms of job loss”.
There were six to seven thousand registered per month, but in April we had 40 times as many. As Government must prepare a comprehensive package for economic recovery, which requires co-operation with the Kosovo Assembly”, Mehmeti has said.
The “is quite disturbing that during April, among the new job seekers, about 60% are 25-39 years old. A working force category willing to work in search of the workplace, in case we fail to respond to this situation we will have a huge influx of migration”, he added.
Furthermore, he announced that the government's policy of financial stimulus for businesses can help provide contracts and smooth the informal economy.
“The measures of the fiscal emergency package with the particular emphasis of the measure 14 which envisions a financial stimulus for businesses that have registered new workers, their number is about 15 thousand people, which means that with such a policy of stimulating employers help provide contracts and smooth the informal economy”, he said.
However, according to the GAP report, working women have higher university preparations than male job seekers, but employment barriers remain the same.
“ract compared to men are prepared in terms of education and education. Statistics in general show that the level of schooling and training of women in our country is on the rise, but employment barriers remain as they were earlier”, Mehmeti said.
