From 1983 to 1985, he had lived in Poland, where he specialized in the political history of Eastern states.
In 1985-1990, he was a commentator in the foreign policy editorial at Pristina Radio Television, then a correspondent for the Croatian news agency “HINA” from Kosovo, Albania and Bulgaria.
