The European Union's representative for Kosovo-Serbia dialogue is headed towards Pristina.
Lajcak himself confirmed this through Twitter. It was blocked yesterday in Zurich, as Tirana did not authorize the landing of flights from Switzerland scheduled for 13:40.
After a small complications on the journey yesterday, the international community activated. They are now heading towards Pristina. I look forward to starting an official visit to Pristina later in the day”, Lajcak wrote on Twitter.
The country's president, Hashim Thaci, had said Lajcak is welcome if he understands Kosovo is a sovereign and independent state, while Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti has confirmed that I will wait at the meeting to present the government's position on the issue of dialogue.
In Kosovo, Ambassador Lajcak will meet with political leadership, representatives of political parties and the international community in Kosovo, as well as the leaders of missions of EU member states.
Lajcak arrives in Kosovo a day after the White House envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue Richard Green has announced that representatives of these two states will meet in the White House on 27 June.
We remember that the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia was suspended by November 2018, when Kosovo authorities had imposed a 100 per cent tax on the goods of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
