Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has not indicated that he will meet with the EU mediator for dialogue with Serbia tomorrow, Miroslav Lajcak. For the latter, the first state said it must realise that Kosovo is independent, and that only with access to mutual recognition between Kosovo and Serbia will succeed. Meanwhile, any other approach, according to him, will lead to his failure and the EU itself.
“I am not informed about the agenda and content of Lajcak's visit to Kosovo. It is no longer time for technical issues to be opened, with claims to normalise relations between Kosovo and Serbia. Lajcak must understand that Kosovo is independent and sovereign. If it comes with this objective and the approach that must be concluded with mutual recognition is welcome. Any other approach is to his failure in Kosovo, but the EU itself”, he said.
These comments, President Thaci made after today's meeting with the prime minister, Avdullah Hoti.
He stressed that tomorrow he will host the European mediator, said after these meetings the structure of the dialogue process is being formed.
“Lajcak comes to Pristina tomorrow to introduce this attitude of ours. I've been communicating with him all over the last week with him and other Quinn ambassadors. I believe that it is slowly shaping and unifying the position of all Kosovo institutions in terms of dialogue... we are willing and articulating our position as a government. I've even contacted the president, we'll have a meeting Wednesday with civil society. We are slowly forming the whole conflict of the dialogue process. I will also have communication with the Kosovo Assembly in this direction. As far as we're concerned we're willing to go”, he said.
EU mediator for dialogue Miroslav Lajcak will come to Kosovo tomorrow and will stay three days to meet with institutional and political leaders.
