This creates many problems for them because many countries demand such a test.
Meanwhile, Kosovo authorities ask each citizen who enters the country, the test proving that he is not affected by COVID-19 (the disease caused by coronavirus), not older than four days.
If they don't have a test like that, then it should identify itself in seven days.
According to zoologist Valbon Krasniqi, the Infectious Clinic at the University Centre of Kosovo in addition to treating patients with COVID-19, it is facing the influx of citizens who are seeking to make such a test.
According to him, this clinic addresses all citizens' demands, but such a decision is made by the Kosovo National Public Health Institute (IKSHPK).
Besides the patients we're treating at the Infectious Clinic, which is a little bit of a number, we're also facing numerous demands from citizens to test for COVID-19, so with citizens travelling to countries that require tests for COVID-19<1>, he said.
Tests Only for Travelers for Cure
Since Kosovo's land borders have been opened, citizens have expressed interest in the movement, but that such a thing is imperiling
Faik Hoti, spokesman at the Ministry of Health, says that since Kosovo's land borders are opened for free circulation of citizens, COVID-19 tests are being given only to those going abroad for treatment as well as to their associates.
There are other options like testing to be done also to those who can make a kind of co-paid for this, but this may result in this phase of spending tests that Kosovo may need for another evental wave of COVID-19, after a time of”, Hoti said.
He added that what will be done next about this process would be decided by the new Government of Kosovo, based on IKSHPK recommendations. But until any other decision is made, it remains in force what is so far being implemented about testing Kosovars travelling to other countries, so they cannot be tested like this.
All citizens of Kosovo or foreigners who enter the border points are instructed by health professionals at border points whether to identify themselves or not, and this move will continue until June 20th, when the re-evaluation of the situation is made.
