The regional water pipeline company “Pristina” has been planning since July in the Pristina region to start with reductions in water supply, due to the serious state of the accumulated lakes.
In a response to TIME, CRU spokeswoman “Presticine”, Arieta doctor, has said that Batlava Lake currently stands at 8,05m below maximum level, while Badovci Lake is 10,45m below the maximum level.
It has said that the lack of rainfall will make citizens face reductions in water supply in July. Citizens most affected by these measures are those supplied by Lake Badovci.
“From July we plan to start with a reduction application in service areas. Especially in areas supplied by Badovci, because even Badovci Lake is in a more difficult position”, the doctor said.
It has reiterated the appeal of CRU “Prestina” for citizens to make rational spending so that water reserves can be maintained for the following periods, while stressing that “for the benefit of the water we appeal even for regular payment for services to maintain the company's financial sustainability, which is linked to services offered to consumers”.
