JAVA: Hoti government ends Kosovo conflict with international friends

After more than 120 days at the helm of the executive, Albin Kurti would leave this position, taking no significant action in the country's best interests. During his time as prime minister, Kurt served more as his party's chief millilite, disseminating unsupported conspiracies and violent, hateful languages.

The Hoti Government was voted in Wednesday by LDK deputies AAK, Initiatives and AKR. With 61 votes for, 24 against and only 1 abstention, Hoti and his ministers received the mandate to rule with Kosovo in this difficult period.

Hoti promised he would be prime minister of all Kosovo citizens, and that he would not continue the culture of lynching and hate like his predecessor Kurti. Also, Hoti said he would not get into conflict with Kosovo's international friends.

This approach, of course, was not so passionate and did not promote the rabid nationalism of our society, but helped the country. Hoti immediately removed the measure of trade reciprocity and the MCC unblocked the 200m euros destined for the Republic of Kosovo. Former Prime Minister Kurt didn't do anything like that.

The opposition Avdullah Hoti will be the rigid opponents in our politics, Vetevendosje with the PDK.

The two parties consider the Hoti government to come out of any fraud deal. Kadri Wessel's PDK named Hoti as a bad <x0-copyer of Albin Kurtin” and as Kurti's “replacement” attacking the new prime minister with mistakes the previous prime minister had made. But there is similar approach to the Vetevendosje Movement. Even this political party continues to name Mr. Hoti as a prime minister “kukulle” controlled by President Thaci, LDK Chairman Isa Mustafa, president of Serbia Alexander Vuciq, etc.

Hoti has so far taken no part in these attacks, as did President Rugova in the past, with attacks by political opponents.

However, Hoti will have a very difficult job in front of herself, seeing the many problems past governments have left. Among the main ones is the overhauling of reports with international friends, including the US, the EU, Albania and other countries that Kurti crashed, and Haradinaj first.

Hoti in his post before being voted prime minister also promised concrete measures to combat the damage caused to the country's economy during the time of pandemic. The amount mentioned by him was 1.2 billion for 2020 and 2021, which had nothing to say to opposition leaders Kurti and Wessel.

But, the LDK was highlighted this week to another problem but existing: Vjosa Osmani. She continued to oppose the Hoti Government, while finally opposed the removal of trade reciprocity against Serbia, saying it was “giving up on Kosovo independence”.

Isa Mustafa, after the government's vote, said he would be discussed at the party's Judicial Council, even the possibility of Osman leaving the LDK, while Osman had proposed a day before the vote of the Hoti Government, a transitional government.

Osman's proposal had supported the Vetevendosje Movement, which the party had even named the new prime minister. It was Murat Yasar.

Such a thing many analysts and political opponents of Vetevendosje described as another populist move by this party that, in times of political polarization, was using the family to symbolize our political freedom for party purposes.
