Researchers say these findings raise questions about the life expectancy of potential immunity against coronarys.

The study, published on June 18, in Nature Medicine magazine, supports the arguments of those who say that physical distance and other restrictions on public health should be extended.

There is still no final answer if a patient recovered from COVID-19 can contract the disease for the second time, or as long as it may be immune.

But, the latest study by China suggests that the idea of issuing so-called “immunity passport” to those with antibodies can be dangerous in terms of controlling the next outbreaks of the disease.

Some countries have researched the idea of issuing such documents to those who appear positive in antibodies tests. Antibody remains in the body because a person has been infected with coronarys.

The immunity passports” would allow people to get back to work and even travel with the assumption that they are immune to the virus.

The antibody is a specific type of protein produced in a person's body and enabled the immune system to identify and counteract foreign objects, such as viruses.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, scientists have studied whether all those infected with coronarys produce antibodies, including those with symptoms and those who are asmptomatic.

Researchers have also tried to determine how much time the antibodies remain in a patient who has recovered from COVID-19.

More and more evidence has shown that individuals asimptomatics can spread the virus effectively and that the exposure of these silent [corronavirus] colporteurs has caused difficulties in controlling the” epidemic, Chinese researchers have said of Nature Medicine magazine.

According to them, the data suggests that “idinated asimptomatics have a weaker immune response” to coronary infection and that reducing “levels of antibodies in the early stages of recovery could have consequences for the immunity strategy and serological polls”.

“These data may indicate the risks of using immunity passports for COVID-19 and supporting the extension of measures for public health, including social distance, hygiene, isolation of high-risk groups and wide testing”, the study says.

Another study by researchers in the United States, however, suggests that even low levels of antibodies can be sufficient to protect a person from coronary. This study is also published on June 18th in Nature magazine.

The “seems that even low levels of antibodies have powerful neutralisation capacity”, Angela Rasmussen, virologist at Columbia University, told the New York Times.

But, it added, low levels “do not necessarily determine whether a patient will be protected from reinfectation”.

Research in the United States also shows that people spread the virus when they become infected and that they do so longer than patients with symptoms.

Rasmussen has said that this find is interesting, because, “actually, it may suggest that asimtomatic patients are really capable of transmitting the virus”.

Scientists, however, say that more work is needed to determine whether other humans can be infected by the virus released by asimtomatic carriers.

Akiko Iwasaki, viral immunologist at Yale University, has said that further research should explain whether an asimtophmatic transporter exits an infectious virus or infectious residue of the virus.

According to her, recent studies “underline the need to develop strong vaccines” and for public health officials to forget the idea that the “imunity of the flock” can be naturally achieved over time.

The subsymunity that develops naturally during infection is subnoptial and short-lived in most people. We can't rely on natural infection to achieve the immunity of the body”, Iwasaki said.
