Government is required to prioritize change of law on missing persons

The Government Commission for Missing Persons during the Day has held a meeting with the Co-ordination Council of Associations of Missing Persons' Families, where it was asked that the completion of the law on missing persons during the war in Kosovo be part of the Kosovo Government's legislative programme.
Gara, leader of the unit under the Government Commission for Undiscovered Persons, said family members and associations continue to seek the dawn of the missing.
He added that even during the pandemic period, this commission has worked to clear up missing persons' cases.
“At the invitation of the Co-ordination Council of Associations of Missing Persons, we have attended the meeting of families associations of missing persons, where topics of the agenda have been addressed as requests of family associations in which we as a government commission are here to present the first on the job issue that has been carried out over the six months due to the pandemic situation, then the issue of missing persons' law and labour steps and the following steps for the remaining period of this year, he said.
He stressed that there have been many meetings at regional levels and that they hope that very soon the identification or solution of the fate of missing persons will become.
“In the six-month report we've introduced activities that have been carried out over this time period, starting with meetings we've had at regional levels, meeting in the application of the framework plan that was signed in November of 2018 by five countries in the region including Kosovo, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, one of the pledges stemming from the declaration of missing persons has been signed by the prime ministers of the London summit and in the implementation of this plan we've had a meeting, where the five components of this plan are discussed, and we've tried to recover some data. We hope that we will soon get the first results which means identifying or resolving missing persons”, he said.
While talking about regional meetings, he said that during this period of time there were two cases of capital waste redependence. The race reiterated that the priority issue that needs to be addressed is the question of complying with the law on missing persons.
Every government effort on the part of the commission is made in close co-operation with the families of missing persons, during this period we have two cases of redependence of mortar waste, the case in February re-cruscted Obiliki municipality and the case at the Budakova of Suhareka at the beginning of March ... The priority issue to be addressed is the question of meeting the law's amendment to missing persons, we expect this issue to be in the Kosovo Government legislative programme<1> he said.
